After settling back in and enjoying the holidays after our recent journey I waded through the hundreds of photos I recorded and I began to see a few themes emerge from the clutter.
The first theme that jumped out at me was due to all the pictures of cats that I had taken in Greece. Cats are everywhere in Greece and for the most part they are beautiful, healthy creatures. I suspect many of these cats are without permanent shelter or ownership yet food is not a problem – time and again we saw little bowls of food left out or restaurant owners and patrons sharing tidbits with hungry felines. Cats are completely intertwined with the Greek way of life and they seem universally accepted.
So with my apologies to those that feel no love for felines, here is my photo essay on the cats of Greece. (Click on the image to enlarge it)
